whereas, for oil pipelines it ranges from 4 *8 inches inner
diameter depending on the requirement. Oil
pipeline could
be made of either steel or plastic however the vastly used one is
the steel pipe. Thermal insulated steel pipes are commonly used for
oil and gas transportation.
Benefits of steel pipes:
Steel pipelines which lie buried for hundreds of years has
extraordinary properties including excellent stress crack
resistance to natural gas. They are contaminant and has superior
impact resistance, high HDB rating at *0°C, *0°C and *0°C, low
permeation to methane and hydrogen. It has got amazing dependable
UV performance for outside storage. The insulation material is
usually polyurethane foam (PU) which has high thermal efficiency

Line steel pipes are long distance pipelines for combustible
liquids and gases. Seamless line pipes used for construction of
long distance pipelines for combustible liquids and gases, nuclear
station pipelines, heating system pipelines, general-purpose
pipelines. Thus, toughness requirements for line steel tubes are
more complex than the tensile property
requirements.
Line steel pipes are manufactured and smelted in the electric
furnace, treated with synthetic slags and cast by continuous
casters. The applied steel making process ensures the achievement
of chemically pure steel with reference to sulphur and phosphor
contents providing high tensile, ductility and corrosion resistance
properties of pipes to be operated at low temperatures in various
corrosion media.
