Fiberglass geogrid is an excellent geosynthetics applied to road enhancement, well-beaten road strengthening, and reinforcement of subgrade and soft soil matrix. It has also become an irreplaceable material in the application of reflection cracks of asphalt pavement. It is a semi-rigid product made of high-strength alkali-free fiberglass by the international advanced warp-knitting technology into mesh substrate and processed by surface coating. Featuring excellent performance such as tensile strength in both directions of warp and weft, low elongation, as well as high-low temperature resistance, ageing resistance, and corrosion resistance, fiberglass geogrid is widely used in the reinforcement of asphalt pavement, cement pavement and roadbed, as well as railroad bed, embankment revetment, airport runway, and the prevention and control of desertification.

i. High Tensile Strength
As its fiberglass strength / weight ratio is greater than that of
steel and the ratio of its elastic modulus and that of asphalt
concrete is up to *0:1, it provides sufficient strength for
preventing from reflection crack.
ii. Low Elongation
Fiberglass geogrid, with glassfiber as raw material, has high
elastic modulus and deformation resistance, and the elongation at
break of less than 4%.
iii. Thermal Stability
The melting point of fiberglass of ***0°C and above ensures that
fiberglass geogrid has the stability in bearing excessive heat in
paving operations.
iv. Compatibility with Asphalt
Mixture
The coated material of fiberglass geogrid in the post-treatment
process is designed for the asphalt mixture and each fiber is fully
coated. Therefore, fiberglass geogrid has high compatibility with
asphalt mixture, and thus it won’t separate from asphalt in the
asphalt layer but firmly stick together.
v. No Long-term Creep
As a reinforced material, it is extremely important to have the
deformation resistance, namely, creep resistance, under the
condition of long-term load. Fiberglass won’t creep and it can
ensure products to maintain the long-term performance.
vi. Physiochemical
Stability
After coated with special post-treatment agents, fiberglass geogrid
is able to resist all kinds of physical wear and tear and chemical
attack, as well as bio-erosion and climate change to guarantee the
performance unaffected.
vii. Aggregate Interlocking and
Restriction
Aggregate Interlocking and Restriction – Because of the network
structure of fiberglass geogrid, the aggregate in asphalt concrete
can run through it to form the mechanical interlocking. Hence, the
movement of aggregate is hindered, and the asphalt mixture under
load can achieve a better compaction, higher load-bearing capacity,
better load transfer performance, and smaller deformation.
