ER***3 welding wire can be classified as a general purpose type filler alloy. It is widely used in welding of ***1, 6XXX series aluminum alloy, 3XXX series and 2XXX series aluminum and alloys.

Spray and Flame Metallizing Wire, Welding Filler Wire; designed for welding heattreatable base alloys and more specifically the 6XXX series alloys; lower melting point and more fluidity than the 5XXX series filler alloysdue to silicon additions; low sensitivity to weld cracking with the 6XXX series base alloys; suitable for sustained elevated temperature service, i.e. above *5°C (**0°F) brighter, almost smut free welds.
