The purpose of load switch is corresponding to its structural
characteristics. From the structural point of view, there are two
main types of load switch. One is independently mounted on the wall
and structure, and its structure is similar to that of
disconnector; The other is installed in the high-voltage
switchgear, especially the one using vacuum or SF6 gas, which is
closer to the circuit breaker. The use of load switch is a
comprehensive use of the two types of load switch.
1) When the load switch is in the off position, it has obvious
disconnection points like the disconnector, so it can play an
electrical isolation role. Necessary conditions for reliable power
failure shall be provided for the power failure equipment or
lines.
2) The load switch has a simple arc extinguishing device, so that
the load current within the rated current of the load switch can be
opened and closed. It can be used to open and close transformers,
capacitor banks and distribution lines of a certain capacity. Some
workshop transformers are far away from the circuit breakers in the
high-voltage distribution room, so there is no obvious
disconnection point in the workshop transformer room during power
failure. A high-voltage load switch is often installed on the wall
of the transformer room, which can not only operate the no-load
current of the transformer nearby, but also provide obvious
disconnection points to ensure the safety and reliability of power
failure.
3) Load switch equipped with high-voltage fuse can be used as
circuit breaker with limited breaking capacity. At this time, the
load switch itself is used to open and close the load current under
normal conditions, and the high-voltage fuse is used to cut off the
short-circuit fault current. However, most of the load switches
here are vacuum type or sulfur hexafluoride type. The entire ring
network cabinet is small, and the maximum capacity can be ***0KVA
transformer.
