Diesel locomotives with narrow gauge are designed
for horizontal rail transport. They are certified according to
European safety standards. They can work on slopes of rail tracks
up to *5‰, with track gauge from **0 mm up to ***5 mm by
temperatures from **5 to **0 °C.Â
Locomotives weight from 5 t to *2 t and they have a single compact
designed cabin with views to both driving directions. Diesel
engines have power from *5 to **0 kW. Â
Hydrostatic transmission is used to transmit torque moment from the
engine to the gear axle and it provides smooth operation throughout
the whole speed range by one lever. The chassis is of dual-axle
type, transmission to the second axle is assured by inter-axle
cardan driveshaft. Travel wheels are secured with interchangeable
rims. Suspension of locomotives is provided by elastic rubber-metal
blocks of sagittal shape.
Locomotive braking is performed by two independent systems on both
axles: Hydraulic it means by hydrostatic transmission through
mechanical gears and mechanical it means by mechanical dual circuit
brake and by mechanical action through direct linkage to travel
wheels. Brake control is proportional and maximum brake
force/stopping power is self-adjustable. Parking brake is
automatic. The security system provides automatic stop of the
locomotive engine in a case of failure mode and when exceeding the
temperature and pressure limit values. The driver is informed about
all conditions on the dashboard.
