Multi-layer high barrier film is the most frequently used for food packagingÂ
Due to multi-layer structure including polymers (as EVOH or PA) which are barrier materials, it can prevent the transmission of oxygen, water vapour, moisture and/or aroma through the packaging film and protect the packaged goods from quality deterioration.
EVOH (Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol ) packaging film provides very good gas barrier properties including oxygen barrier, nitrogen barrier and carbon dioxide barrier. EVOH film is also strong, flexible and transparent.Combined with PE, PA films provides a good vapour barrier.
With pharmaceutical products, some barrier films have a sterilisation effect, and keep out contamination with germs.
