Functions of HPMC in different fields:
1. Building industry：HPMC is used as the water-retaining agent and retarder of cement mortar which makes pumpability of concrete. HPMC can improve to extend operable time in binding agent of plaster, gypsum plaster, and putty powder or some other construction materials. As the paste reinforcer of ceramic tile, marble, plastic ornament which can reduce the amount of usage of cement. The water-retaining agent of HPMC can help to prevent alligatoring fast after sizing agent was painted to enhance hardening strength.

3. Coating industrial: HPMC has fine ntermiscibility in water and organic solvent as thickening agent, dispersant and stabilizing agent.
