Ceramic fibers SACF-IV were prepared by high temperature melting from the fine bauxite, which have good stability as reinforcing materials, well-proportioned dispersion and low agglomeration. Especially, with addition of a coupling agent, the toughness of the ceramic fiber increased, but the mechanical strength remained unchanged. So, the friction materials filled with SACF-IV exhibited stable wear resistance.
