First class, deep-orange, smooth, cylindrical ****0cm (**8in) long
roots with healthy, strong, erect foliage for easy lifting. Quality
roots are produced over a long season from successional sowings,
with good storage capabilities. Carrot Ulysses has shown excellent
disease resistance
Sow February-March under fleece for early crops or April-May as a
maincrop. Sow seeds thinly, *3mm (1/2in) deep in broad drills *0cm
(*2in) apart. Prefers well-drained, moist, rich soil in an open,
sunny site. Thin seedlings as necessary, probably unnecessary for
'baby roots', but to 2.**5cm (**2in) apart for larger roots for
storing.
Keep well watered for best quality roots. Protect with enviromesh
or erect a *0cm (*0in) barrier around the crop against carrot
fly
