Physical Characteristics
Due to the low density, high strength, and
good plasticity of aluminum alloy that is close to quality steel,
aluminum alloy can be manufactured into different kinds of
profiles with excellent electrical conductivity, thermal
conductivity and corrosion resistance, which is widely used among
industry, the consumption use of them is only less than
steel.
Some aluminum alloys own god mechanical
properties, physical properties and corrosion resistance that can
be obtained by heat treatment.
Hard aluminum alloy, Cu - Mg - AI system,
generally containing a small amount of Mn can be strengthened by
heat treatment.
Super hard aluminum alloy, Al Cu - Mg - Zn
system, can be strengthened by heat treatment; It is a kind of
aluminum alloy with the highest strength at room temperature,
however, its corrosion resistance is poor, and can be easily
softened under high temperature.
Wrought aluminum alloy mainly consist of Zn -
Mg - Si - Al system, adding different kinds of elements, but the
content is very small, thus it has excellent thermal plasticity,
suitable for forging, it is also known as forging aluminum
alloy.
Pure aluminum density is small (=2.7g/cm3),
its about 1/3 of iron, But due to the low melting point (660 C)
of aluminum, it can be easily deformed, thats why we use them to
extrude profiles.
