Being lighter, alloy conductors can sometimes be used with more advantages in place of the more conventional ACSR; having lower breaking loads than the latter, their use becomes particularly favourable when ice and wind loadings are low.  ** Application: As regards aluminum, the wires of this alloy have a double tensile strengh (greater than *0Kg/mm²), its electrical conductivity is *5% lower (*3% instead of *1%) and the weight is the same.
