    Type **4 is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel. It is also known as *8/8 from the nominal composition of type **4 being *8% chromium and 8% nickel.Grade **4 is the standard "*8/8" stainless that you will probably see in your pans and cookery tools.Type **4 stainless steel also has outstanding welding characteristics. Post-weld annealing is not required to restore the excellent performance of this grade in a wide range of mildly corrosive conditions.
