Glyceryl monobutyrate is a glyceride formed by esterification of one molecule of glycerol and one molecule of butyric acid. Exist in cream, cod liver oil and sweat. At present, it is widely used in animal feed as an alternative to antibiotics. Since glyceryl monobutyrate is soluble in water, it is more convenient and more widely used than glyceryl tributyrate. At present, it is used more in aquaculture.
