What is aluminum sheet?
Aluminum sheet refers to a rectangular frame sheet made by rolling
aluminum ingots. It can be pure aluminum sheet or aluminum alloy
sheet. According to different application requirements, aluminum
sheet can also be divided into different types such as thin
aluminum sheet, medium thick aluminum sheet and pattern aluminum
sheet. . Aluminum sheets have the characteristics of good light
weight, corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity, so they are
widely used in construction, automobile, aviation and other fields.
The cross-section of the aluminum sheet is rectangular and the
thickness is uniform, and when the thickness is greater than 0.2mm,
it is usually delivered in a flat shape. Additionally, aluminum
panels are often trimmed by shearing or sawing before delivery.
Classification of aluminum sheets:
1. According to the alloy composition, it is divided into:
high-purity aluminum sheet (aluminum content is more than *9.9%),
aluminum sheet (aluminum content is more than *9%), aluminum sheet
alloy, aluminum sheet.
2. According to thickness, it is divided into: thin sheet
(thickness between 0.2mm*6.0mm), medium-thick sheet (between
6.0mm***0mm).
Aluminum sheet forming methods: casting method, plastic molding
method and deep processing method.
Aluminum sheets can be divided into two categories according to the
characteristics of alloy heat treatment: non-heat-treatable
strengthened aluminum alloys and heat-treatable strengthened
aluminum alloys.
**1. Aluminum alloys that cannot be strengthened by heat treatment:
pure aluminum, aluminum-manganese alloy (Series 3),
aluminum-magnesium alloy (Series 5), aluminum-silicon alloy (Series
4), etc.
**2. Heat-treatable strengthened aluminum alloys:
aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy (6 series), aluminum-copper alloy
(2 series), aluminum-zinc-magnesium alloy (7 series), etc.
3. According to the processing technology: cold rolling and hot
rolling.
Functions of aluminum sheets: processability,
plasticity, forgetability, and recoverability.
Aluminum sheet uses:
1. Construction field. Aluminum panels are used to make building
curtain walls, ceilings, interior and exterior wall decorations,
etc. They have good fire protection and anti-corrosion properties
and are suitable for exterior and interior decoration of high-rise
buildings, commercial buildings, airport terminals, squares,
stadiums and other buildings.
2. Transportation field. Aluminum sheets are used to make car
bodies, roofs, windshield frames and other components. Because of
their light weight and high strength, they help improve the fuel
efficiency and safety of cars.
3. Electronic field. Aluminum sheets are used to make casings, heat
sinks, circuit boards, etc. of electronic products. Due to their
conductivity and corrosion resistance, aluminum circuit boards are
widely used in electronic products.
4. Packaging field. Aluminum sheets are used to make food
packaging, cosmetic packaging, etc., and have good moisture-proof,
anti-oxidation, and fresh-keeping properties.
5. Aerospace field. Aluminum sheets are used to manufacture
exterior panels, fuel tanks, boosters, etc. for aircraft,
satellites, and other equipment. Because of their high strength,
light weight, and corrosion resistance, aluminum materials have
been widely used in the aerospace field.
6. Other fields. Aluminum sheets can also be used for mechanical
parts processing, mold manufacturing, chemical pipeline wrapping,
etc.
